The biggest news for Big Rock Pottery is the opening of my new web site. With the help of super computer guy, Matthew Rose, I now have a beautiful place to display my work and communicate with other people who are interested art and clay. Thanks, Matthew!
Another exciting happening is that my sculpture, "Chubby Nude" was awarded a second place ribbon in sculpture at the prestigious "Nudes in November" show at Sorenson"s Gallery in Fresno.
This is a busy time of year for Big Rock Pottery. We are preparing work for the Holiday Gift Show and Exhibit at the Design by Arenas Gallery in Visalia. This show will begin on November 15 with a reception from 5:00 to 9:00 pm and continue until December 29.
On November 17 we will travel to Fresno for the San Joaquin Clay and Glass Association annual Fall Show and Sale. The Sale will take place at 1084 Bullard @ Palm from 10:00 am to 4 pm. For more information visit sjcga.com.
We are looking forward to the Biennial Three Rivers Studio Tour on March 29 and 30. Artists who live and work in Three Rivers, the gateway to Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Park, open their studios to the public during the Spring every other year. The self-guided tour allows visitors to enjoy the beauty of this Sierra Nevada foothill community as they spend time enjoying each studio. For more information visit threeriversartstudiotour.com.
Most of all I look forward to spending the chilly winter days inside my cozy studio, working on the creative ideas that occur inside my head. I will continue to work on the forms of jars and pitchers. I am also beginning a sculpture that will express my frustration with politicians.
